The World Savings Day message concerns not only savings for the implementation of plans related to the future, but also savings in the broad sense of the word - time, effort, resources.

On October 31, in the Union of Banks of Armenia, ARMBUSINESSBANK participated in the award ceremony organized as part of the “Financial Literacy and Skills” event program, initiated by the Union of Banks of Armenia on the occasion of World Savings Day. The works of the participants of essay and video viewing contest previously announced for schoolchildren on the topic of "How I Imagine the Bank of the Future," as well as the participants of the student contest on the topic of “Making a Business Plan” were studied and summarized by an evaluation committee consisting of the representatives of the Union of Banks of Armenia, commercial banks and the Deposit Guarantee Fund.

Having welcomed the participants, in view of the Savings Day, Seyran Sargsyan, Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia, emphasized the importance of initiatives aimed at improving the financial literacy of the society. The winners of the competition were awarded prizes by the Union of Banks of Armenia.

Two students were awarded personal prizes of ARMBUSINESSBANK. The work of Hrachya Zakaryan, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU, concerned microchips that perform various functions, as well as local production and consumption of various small equipment, while the Business Plan by Gevorg Khachatryan, the 4th year student of Gyumri branch of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia concerned the production of rubber fabric posters.

As part of the event, Hermine Harutyunyan, director of Deposit Guarantee Fund, also presented a prize to the winner of infographic competition on the topic “I save for the sake of ...”

It is the seventh year the International Savings Day has been held in Armenia. Bank deposits are considered as a stable way for the population of our country to preserve their savings.
