New forest on the occasion of 30th anniversary of Armenian dram
ARMBUSINESSBANK has joined the initiative on afforestation of 50 hectares in Jrashen and Urasar communities of Lori region within the scope of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Armenian dram.
The initiative kicked-off within the cooperation of the Central Bank of Armenia, Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA), “My Forest Armenia” NGO and commercial banks of Armenia.
160,000 trees (oaks, maples, beech, lindens, wild pears, wild apples, walnuts, hornbeams and other tree species) will be planted on an area of around 50 hectares. The forest to be grown as a timeless, future and life oriented value, will symbolize the durability of the national currency.
After the tree planting, Governor of the Central Bank, Chairman of the UBA Board and the founding director of “My Forest Armenia” NGO signed a memorandum of cooperation.
“Today we are launching the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Armenian dram scheduled for 2023. It is very symbolic that the tree planting event is held the first. The Central Bank lays special emphasis on the support in solution of environmental problems of our country, and we are glad that within the framework of corporate social responsibility, jointly with commercial banks and “My Forest Armenia” program, we can contribute to improvement of the environment. At the same time, we are committed to the “green” agenda and we are incorporating it to the maximum possible extent in our daily activities and even in our approaches to financial regulation”, said Martin Galstyan.
Within the scope of corporate social responsibility, ARMBUSINESSBANK has always paid particular attention to such events, joining this campaign of environmental importance aimed at establishment of timeless values.
